Defunding Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection Fund or the Consumer Financial Civil Penalty Fund

At the end of the bill insert the following:

Sec. [XXX]. None of the funds made available under this or any other Act, or any prior Appropriations Act may be used to direct any funds obtained by, deposited into, transferred to, or credited to the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection Fund or the Consumer Financial Civil Penalty Fund established under 12 U.S. Code § 5497, including to use such funds to assess or collect any penalties or for the purpose promoting of consumer education and financial literacy programs.
